El presidente electo de Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, indicó este lunes que Leah Francis Campos será su nominada como embajadora de ese país en la República Dominicana, convirtiéndola así en la tercera mujer que ocupará ese puesto, de aprobarse su nominación en el Congreso estadounidense.
El anuncio fue realizado a través de las redes sociales de Trump, donde definió a Leah Campos como proveniente de una familia de transporte y que estará comprometida con la seguridad nacional y prosperidad de Estados Unidos, como embajadora en la República Dominicana.
Campos, que anteriormente se desempeñó como asesora principal para el hemisferio occidental en el Comité de Asuntos Exteriores de la Cámara de Representantes, también fue oficial de caso en la CIA para el país. En un comunicado, Trump destacó su habilidad para contribuir a la seguridad nacional de Estados Unidos y su compromiso con la diplomacia.
